Shanna Latrice Carter, aged 39, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Baptist South in Montgomery, Alabama. Born on January 26, 1984, to Benjamin F and Marilyn Jones Carter, she was the second youngest among five children. She was preceded in death by her brother Benjamin and sisters Rosalind and Tracie.
Shanna embraced her faith and was added to the Lord's body at Finley Ave., Church of Christ. Later, she worshipped at the New Harvest congregation and the Metro Church of Christ, under the leadership of Brother Ricky Pierce.
Educated in the public schools of Montgomery, Alabama, Shanna graduated from Booker T. Washington Magnet High School in 2002. A diligent worker, she dedicated several years of her life to employment at Starbucks and Huntington College. Shanna was a kind-hearted and caring person with a personality to match. Her love for family shone brightly, and she found joy in singing with her sisters and cousins.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Marilyn Jones Stamps; sister, Bennetta Carter; brother, Lorenzo Mcneal; her devoted life partner, Will Curtis Ford; six nieces and nephews; 12 aunts and uncles; a host of devoted cousins, and scores of friends.
As we fondly remember Shanna, may her love and spirit continue to resonate in our hearts.
